The Fat Belgian

Posted on: May 10, 2010

Friday night, two of my sisters, my brother in law, Brian and I visited The Fat Belgian. I brought Brian here earlier this year for his birthday dinner, and it was officially the best duck we have ever tasted. If I could afford it, I would have dinner here every night. Brian, my sister Susan and I had the the Duck Roquette. My sister Anh had the Belgian Beer Ribs. Lastly, my brother in-law Tan had the Braised Rabbit and Mushroom Risotto.

Duck Roquette:
Tender duck breast thinly sliced, accompanied with a light sage and leek risotto on roquette lettuce dressed with a red currant and pomegranate balsamic vinaigrette.

Belgian Beer Ribs:
Tender pork back ribs with a tangy, spicy barbeque sauce made with Petrus Old Brown beer. Served with fresh Belgian frites and homemade mayonnaise

Braised Rabbit and Mushroom Risotto:
Tender pulled rabbit braised in Belgian abbey beer in a wild mushroom risotto. Finished with parmesan cheese and 35 year aged balsamic.
