Papaya Thai Restaurant

Posted: October 29, 2010

Today my sister and I went to Papaya for lunch. It's this Thai restaurant by Yonge and Wellesley. We ordered two dishes from the lunch menu, which also comes with a spring roll, soup, and salad. It was well worth it, about $8 for each lunch special. We had lemon grass beef, and red curry chicken.

Random Oyster Encounter

Posted: October 15, 2010

So we were driving down Lawrence last Saturday and passed by Diana's Seafood. There was a long line-up outside. if you haven't been to Diana's (I suggest you go :p) they have two buildings, apparently they are opening a seafood restaurant soon in the building that is unoccupied. Anyways, they were selling fresh fanny bay oysters (when I say fresh, apparently they arrived an hour before we purchased them, so they were picked from the water that day!) 8 for $10. Of course being oyster fanatics we could not resist!!!

Mini-Thanksgiving

Posted: October 15, 2010

So usually if I did have turkey, I'd be posting pictures up here by now... However, my family Thanksgiving dinner isn't until this Saturday due to conflict of schedules. Instead, I cooked up a mini-thanksgiving dinner for Brian and I. I made honey-glazed ham, some herbed rice, and home-made cheese and broccoli soup... nothing special. :)

Friday Feast

Posted: October 15, 2010

Last Friday I had a few friends over and we cooked up a huge feast. Of course, I always like to add oysters to the mix when I have dinner nowadays (last time I will have oysters for a while, since we have been eating them every week and it's probably not too good for you). We made mussels with lemon garlic cream sauce, onion rings, and 70 oysters. YUM!
